Grether's is characterised by a unique combination of essences of sun-ripened berries and flowers, high-quality glycerine and the exclusive agar-agar. This special gelling agent is extracted from red seaweed and does not allow mass production. Each batch requires intensive care over a period of three months before it is released onto the market.
 

The agar-agar gives the product its smooth texture. It is carefully prepared by soaking it for many hours and then boiling it together with the other ingredients. The liquid fruit mass must then rest to allow any air bubbles to escape. Each preparation is made fresh daily to ensure the highest quality.

Grether's are produced according to the original recipe from 1850 with sound expertise, many years of experience, passion and in traditional, specialised production facilities, partly by hand.

Grether's mature for a whole three months in temperature-controlled climate chambers. In this way, they develop their unmistakably fine flavour like fine wine, characterised by intense fruitiness and a special consistency.
